PHP Ledger for analysts: what you can get out of it
A business graduate or analyst usually works from the reports, not the entries behind them. These are the report-level features available today.
PHP Ledger is a development preview. Its reports already collapse to different levels of detail, and a read-only API can feed them into a separate reporting tool.
Core features
What you can pull from the reports without a posting screen:
- The trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet collapse from class to group to account, so you can see the whole picture or open one line.
- Receivables and payables ageing splits open items into current and overdue bands, for customers and for suppliers.
- A cash scenario projects a cash position from the weekly assumptions you enter.
- Stock by location shows quantity and carrying value by warehouse or van.
- Cost figures are withheld from anyone without the capability to see them, on screen and through the read API alike.
- Every report exports to CSV.
- A read-only API and MCP connection expose the trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and account statements to a reporting tool, with no path to write.
