Choose the items
Search six illustrative products or use categories. Change quantities or remove items before recording the sale.
Review cash and change
The example basket is 5.75. Entering 10.00 cash gives 4.25 change. No payment provider is involved.
Record the sale
The source, immutable price snapshot and balanced journal save together. Repeating the same request does not create a second sale.
Print the receipt
Open the saved receipt and follow its journal reference. Printer and device compatibility still need your own hosting checks.
Evaluate the flow with sample transactions
This cash POS showcase does not deduct inventory, calculate cost of sales or tax, process cards, apply discounts, sell on credit or work offline. Its catalog is illustrative. Restaurant orders, returns, barcode hardware and end-of-day settlement need their own implementation and validation.
Public demo books are private to each visitor and reset hourly. Do not enter real sales or customer information. Destructive user operations are restricted in the demo.
See the path to a supported retail releaseWhat do the cash-sale terms mean?
A cash sale records payment received at the time of sale; its screen is only one part of the accounting evidence.
- Basket
- The selected item quantities and prices before the sale is recorded. Review these while changes are still possible.
- Tender
- The cash handed over by the customer. Tender may exceed the amount due.
- Change
- The excess cash returned: tender minus the sale total. In the sample, 10.00 minus 5.75 equals 4.25.
- Catalogue
- The illustrative product list. It is not an inventory valuation ledger.
- Linked journal
- The balanced accounting entry saved with the source sale. For this cash example, the 5.75 sale increases cash and records sales income.
The receipt helps you check what was recorded. It does not establish compliance with a country’s invoice requirements. Follow the double-entry example before expanding the evaluation to a busy counter.
Frequently asked questions
These answers describe the current release and the choices you need to make before evaluating it.
Does the cash POS accept card payments?
No. It records cash tender and change without calling a payment provider.
Does selling an item reduce stock?
The cash POS does not deduct stock. Optional Inventory now supports quantities, moving weighted-average valuation and stock invoice cost of sales through AR; integration with this cash counter remains future work.
Can I print a receipt?
Yes. A saved cash sale has a printable receipt and a linked journal. Check the layout on your intended browser and printer; this is not a certified hardware integration.
Can I sell on credit or issue an invoice?
No. Customer credit, formal invoices and receivable workflows are not included in the current cash POS.
How should I test the cash POS?
Use fictional items and amounts. Check the basket, tender, change, receipt, source link and balanced journal, then follow the daily cash-check guide.
