Connected reporting and four businesses to explore
PHP Ledger 0.2.1-preview brings scoped read connections and richer synthetic books into the same release as the accounting core.
The accounting core is included
Manage company permissions and accounts; save receipt, expense and general-journal drafts; review balanced posting and linked reversals. Explore opening balances with reconciled unpaid documents, period controls, bank CSV reconciliation, trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, running account balances and CSV exports.
Read your authorized books from a client
Connect through the read API, native MCP Streamable HTTP or the bundled STDIO bridge. Connections use a dedicated personal token or per-user OAuth, with explicit company/book scope, expiry and revocation. Financial writes are not exposed. The versioned setup recipes and client matrix separate actual tested clients from pending compatibility checks.
Four fictional businesses, two years of history
Choose a service agency, retail shop, seasonal business or distributor. Every pack has 74 source records, closed 2024–2025 history, an open 2026 practice period and three editable drafts. Each visitor receives separate temporary books and can connect a client to that sample until the next hourly reset.
Follow three illustrated reporting walkthroughs: daily bank checks, monthly closing and quarterly/yearly review. Fictional salary, stock and unpaid-document support schedules explain journal entries; they do not add payroll, inventory or AR/AP modules.
PHP 8.2+, with PHP 8.3 recommended
The package supports the established PHP 8.2 floor and is deployed on PHP 8.3. MySQL 8.4, the required PHP extensions, HTTPS and terminal access remain part of the installation requirements. The accounting core is country-neutral, with Pakistan FBR among the planned regional connectors.
Upgrade with a matched backup
The release includes thirteen migrations. Two new migrations add connection storage and update guarded demo-period provisioning. Follow the supplied upgrade guide, stop web traffic and workers during migration, and preserve the matching application, database and private configuration for recovery. Independent accounting review and real-business usability remain open evaluation gates.
